What defines a Cherry Moon Foundation Sponsor?

Sponsorship represents a unique form of contribution that allows individuals to align with our mission of reshaping the future of young people in the Philippines via education. As a CMF sponsor, you gain the exceptional chance to turn a child's aspirations into reality and witness the transformative impact of education on their lives over time.

What do I need to do to become a sponsor?

Cherry Moon Foundation requires prospective sponsors to complete and submit a Sponsor Registration form.  The sponsorship donation must be initiated prior to the start of each sponsorship year. 

How much does it cost to sponsor a child’s education?

On average, the expense of sponsoring a child eligible under CMF's criteria for college education in the Philippines amounts to approximately 1500 USD annually (or 125 USD monthly). However, this figure may vary slightly based on the specific course the student chooses to pursue.

How long does college education take ?

College education in the Philippines takes 4-5 years depending on the course pursued.  The academic year begins in August and ends in May.

Are my contributions tax-deductible?

Yes.  Cherry Moon Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and will be able to issue a tax receipt for all donations received in the United States.  Unfortunately, no tax deductible arrangements exist for other countries at the moment.

Can I send money directly to my sponsored child?

No. Directly sending money to the student is discouraged to prevent feelings of resentment among those who may not receive the same level of support. Instead, additional funds can be contributed to the overall pool to address any further educational needs your sponsored child might have.
